Nearing 19 years in the music industry, Dawn Delvo has called Black River Entertainment home for the last 14 years. Serving as the Vice President of Communications at Black River Entertainment, Delvo plays a direct role in the media and public relations strategies for the entertainment company’s studios, publishing, executive staff, labels, and artist roster and directly oversees independent publicity partners.
Given the nature of an independent company, Delvo also contributes to marketing efforts and secures film & TV sync opportunities. Additionally, Delvo is the publicity liaison to the Pegula sports and entertainment entities, which include NFL and NHL teams, hotels, and restaurants, connecting the entertainment worlds and creating synergy between the various companies. Delvo joined the Black River team in 2011 and has proudly been a part of the successful launch of Kelsea Ballerini’s career from the moment she signed as a Black River Entertainment songwriter and then as a Black River artist in 2013.
With her debut album on Black River, The First Time, Ballerini is the only female artist in country music history to have had three consecutive No. 1 singles from a debut album. Currently, Delvo is the driving publicity force behind new artists MaRynn Taylor (on tour with Kelsea Ballerini) and Scotty Hasting (featured in the 2024 CMA Awards). Before joining Black River, Dawn spent nearly four years with a publicity and marketing firm where she focused on publicity, marketing, social media management, and film & TV licensing.
Always looking to continue to grow and serve within the music community, Delvo is a 10+ year member of The Recording Academy, a member of the CMA, ACM, SOURCE, a SOLID alumna, a member of the ACM and CMA Publicity Task Force, and was honored to be named Nashville’s “Woman of the Year” in the 2012 charity campaign benefitting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. A North Dakota native, Delvo’s main focus outside of work is raising her now 14-year-old daughter as a solo mom, enjoying their life in the country on the edge of Nashville, finding ways to be creative or DIY around the home and yard, and spending as many days on the lake as possible.
